Just before the holidays in the month of June, three young ladies decided to sit the Cambridge FCE (First Certificate in English) exam in Salzburg at the WIFI Institute. One BORG student, Magdalen Rye- “Maggie”- and two HLW students, Julia Maierl and Claudia Stadler, all passed with flying colours, making both schools extremely proud. Ms. Maierl and Ms. Stadler both managed to achieve an impressive pass at B2 level and Ms. Rye succeeded in scoring an impressive C1.
The Cambridge certificate can be taken at different levels on the European Framework for languages- B1 PET, B2 FCE, C1 CAE and C2 CPE. Having the certificate betters candidates’ chances of finding employment in the future, both in Austria and abroad and the qualification is recognised the world over.
I wish all three the very best and hope that they continue to succeed, wherever their paths may lead them.
